Christina Cheng's Favourite Sunglasses of 2012: Linda Farrow x The Row!

As a stylist for both Global and Spectacle, Christina has spent plenty of time choosing the perfect colours and shapes to suit everyone's individual style. Even with all of this experience, Christina admits that she too has trouble finding a sunglass that fits properly without looking massive on her face.

According to Christina, "Looking for the perfect oversized sunglass frame can be tricky and trust me, as a frame stylist, I too struggle to find the perfect sunglass fit... it's always either too big and bug eye looking on me, or it never seems to fit my small nose bridge.  Nonetheless, Linda Farrow x The Row came to my rescue!  I wanted to feature these sunglasses to show females with petite facial features that they don't have to shy away from big, bold frames!"

Spectacle Summer Trunk Show Series: Linda Farrow and Orgreen & Blac

Spectacle got the chance to host two special trunk shows last week.  On Thursday, July 5th, we held a Linda Farrow Trunk Show at our Queen St. shop and on Saturday, July 7th, we had Orgreen & Blac at the Yonge St. location.  Both shows were great and the reps and our staff taught Spectacle customers even more about the featured products!

Exclusive Summer Trunk Show Series

Spectacle is very excited to announce two major events happening this week!

We will be hosting a Linda Farrow Trunk Show on July 5th from 4pm-7pm at our Queen St. West location.

Then, on July 7th at our Yonge St. location, we will be holding an Orgreen & Blac Trunk Show as well from 3pm-6pm.

Both shows will offer the opportunity to meet a representative from each company who can advise you on product and answer any questions you may have.  Our expert staff will also be available to help you with the products as well.  You will be able to browse and purchase newly released items from both designers.

With Summer just around the corner, everyone is looking at a new pair of sunnies!  This can be difficult since there are so many types around and so Spectacle is going to help you decide because Spectacle Loves You!

Round Face Shape

People with a more round face shape should stay with frames that have an angular appearance.  Angled lenses will help define your facial features and highlight your features!  A great frame for a round face type is Thierry Lasry  Glazy shades!

Spectacle Loves Round Shades

We noticed a bunch of companies putting out round and roundish sunglass frames in their Spring/Summer 2011 collections. Being the astute stylists that we are we can safely say that more of these are on the way for the Fall/Winter season.

Keeping that in mind we decided to highlight some of our favourite circular sunnies to make it easy for our clients to see the cream of the crop.

Here are our picks

G.L.C.O.-Hampton. New guy on the scene Garret Leight, hit a home run with his debut optical/sun collection. All the looks are inspired by the beaches and lifestyle around his Venice Beach home. The Hampton (named after one of the more famous left coast beaches) is our choice as his best design.

Paul Smith-Elson. This frame combines an acetate front with smooth metal temples and photochromic (that means they get darker when you go outside) lenses to give the wearer a frame that can be worn both in and outdoors a double threat so to speak.

Raf Simmons for Linda Farrow - RAF21. A collaborative effort between Mr Simmons and Mrs Farrow, this is a match made in heaven. It is both very current in the fashion sense and very classical in its design. We think it also looks super hot on both guys and gals.

Cutler and Gross -0736. One of the originators of geek chic, C&G have been doing what they do and doing it well for over 40 years. If these frames evoke a certain retro feeling it is not by accident my friends. Cutler and Gross were there from the beginning.

Anne Et Valentin -Freedom. This beautifully crafted frame combines both acetate and metal materials yet is still light weight with very strong defining features. Available in many color combination's this design feels more like art for your face then your average frame does.

Spectacle Loves Raf Simons

Designer extraordinaire Raf Simons has paired up with style maven Linda Farrow for the co release of some super fresh sunnies this season.

Our fav frame is the RAF14, a model that makes you think leather driving gloves, convertible sports cars, collard shirts on guys named Chase and a weekend in the Hamptons.

Not having access to any of those we went with the next best thing, Spectacle's own Eric as a model for all three colors of this frame. Check it out
