Electric Island is Back This Monday on Toronto Island!

Electric Island is happening this Monday, August 5th on Toronto Island. The event begins at 2pm and showcases local and international artists who will deliver 8+ hours of music.  To celebrate the event, we're giving away a pair of custom Taru & Koli sunglasses!  To enter, take a photo of yourself in shades and Tweet it to @SpectacleLovesU.  A winner will be chosen August 6th.

The Food Dudes Annual Block Party is Happening This Wednesday!

The Food Dudes annual Block Party is happening this Wednesday at the Muzik Bier Gardens!  This year, the Food Dudes are partnering with Bluebird which is known for celebrating the connection between local artists and food.  Bluebird celebrates cuisine through a variety of ways such as graffiti, photography, sculpture, and more.

Great food, drinks, art, and entertainment will go on from 5pm to midnight and all you need to get in is a non-perishable food item to be donated to Toronto's Daily Bread Food Bank.  If you're interested in attending, send an email to olivia@thefooddudes.com to RSVP but hurry as space is limited!

TD Toronto Jazz Festival Starts Today

Today is the beginning of the TD Toronto Jazz Festival.  The festival runs from June 20th until June 29th with events happening throughout the city.  It's known as one of North America's premier jazz festivals and includes performances from Willie Nelson, Smokey Robinson, and many more.

Luminato Starts Today in Toronto

Luminato - one of the largest art Festivals in Toronto - begins today!  Luminato is a Festival which brings together and celebrates artists from around the world and Canada.  It runs from June 14th through June 23rd with events sprawling the city featuring music, theatre, dance, visual arts, literature, and film.

Brrrrr! Toronto Kicks Off Today at Echo Beach!

February 1st and 2nd marks the first Brrrrr! Toronto music festival taking place at Echo Beach!  Brrrrr! Toronto is based off of Montreal's successful winter music festival, Igloofest, and it hopes to draw a winter loving crowd to Echo Beach for a weekend of DJ gigs and drinks!

AZARI & III Play Show to Hometown Toronto Crowd Last Night

Last night, Spectacle clients AZARI & III played a show at Toronto's Sound Academy and some of our staff went to check them out.

AZARI & III is a house band from Toronto that was formed in 2008 that has since exploded in popularity worldwide.  They are currently on tour so go out and see them live if you get a chance!

Happy Birthday Picasso!

Today is Pablo Picasso's birthday.  Picasso was born in Spain and spent most of his life in France where he became one of the most recognizable and influential artists of all time.

Picasso was famous for exploring different approaches to abstract painting. He is a co-founder of the Cubist movement, the inventor of constructed sculpture, and the co-inventor of the collage.

New Art Exhibit by Juno Youn Opening at De Luca Gallery Saturday

Spectacle client and artist Juno Youn has a new solo art exhibit, Toponiriques / Dreamscapes, opening at De Luca Gallery this weekend.  Juno was born in South Korea and immigrated to Toronto in the mid 1980s.  He now resides in Montreal.

Saturday, September 29th marks the annual Nuit Blanche event here in Toronto.  The night-long art festival features installations throughout the city, including Spectacle's own Queen St. West neighbourhood!
